Top Tips

It’s always good to have questions, after all buying a wedding dress isn’t somethng we do everyday!
Hopefully we’ve answered most of your questions below, but if you need some help just get in touch and we’ll be pleased to help.

We advise brides to allow 9-12 months before the wedding.  This gives enough time to find your dress, order (some dresses can take 5 months to arrive to store!) and have any alterations done.  However it’s never too early to say yes your perfect dress, you’ll know when the time is right for you.

Yes please – we work by appointment only to give you our undivided attention when searching for your dress, this way there are no interruptions! You are though, very welcome to pop in to browse during the week and make your appointment in person. If we have time you can try on dresses while there.

Yes – your chosen dress will be made to order especially for you., in your size and to the deisgners size chart.

Yes, don’t panic!  We can look at a rush-order (although designers do charge for this service).  Or, you have the option of buying off-the-peg and take home with you.

We love to create the perfect bridal look and have a beautiful selection of veils and hairpieces to compliment your dress.  Even if you haven’t purchased your dress from us we’d love to help you.

We would advise you to bring 2-3 guests who’s opinion you value the most,  as it can get very confusing with everyone having thier own taste.   It’s your opinion that matters, listen to your heart after all it’s your day!

We want you to be completely comfortable at your appointment.  It is advisable to wear a strapless bra and bring along a hair clip to put your hair up as some dresses have beautiful back detail.  If you have shoes with the type of heel you’ll wear on the day bring those along too.

We do ask that you do not wear fake tan or too much make-up to ensure that our dresses are kept as beautiful as possible for all our brides.

We do not offer an in-house alteration service, but do have an experienced seamstress that we recommend. The seamstress will charge accordingly after your first consultation.

We do advise booking your alternations appointment early especially during the peak wedding season.

We do allow photographs, but please remember the lighting in store isn’t as good as it will be on the day. You cannot see the finer detail in pics.  We usually say to brides, if it’s definate no, then don’t take a photo as you might focus on what you don’t like rather than the ones you love.   Once you’ve narrowed down you choices just take photo’s of those dresses not every one you’ve tried on!
